In July...
we made a last minute attempt at selling our house and upon the recommendation of our realtor, we decided to remodel our downstairs half bath and convert it to a full bath
here it is almost done!!
here are some random pics on my phone that made me smile... the boys have been addicted to the olympics, so much that they often have no clue what is going on around them...as evidenced by this picture. The girls took out all their hair bows and decorated dad's head while he is engrossed by
Michael Phelps.
for another FHE we had our annual "title of liberty"lesson, and watched some videos about a few soldiers and learned about their lives and the sacrifices they have made to serve our country.
at the end of the fireworks, we stayed and let the kids roll down the berm while we waited for the crowds to die down.

Our Tuesday lunch dates with Dad are something that the kids continued to look forward to each week. This week we took sandwiches to the park and fed the ducks at a park right up the street from Mike's office.

a highlight for me was a GNO with some of my favorite gal pals, one last hurrah before our friend
Stephanie had her baby.
Thanks to the "buy one get one free" visa card offers, Mike and I got to go to the "real" movies TWICE this month and saw Spidey and Batman. Whoa- twice.in one month. (unheard of for us! we usually wait till it comes to the dollar movie!)

in the middle of the month we got to go on a really fun field trip to the Blue Baker Bakery with our friends (30 kids total!)
the kids enjoyed going behind the scenes of the bakery, making their own personal little loaves of bread with toppings of their choosing, and getting a free hot, fresh baked cookie! but their favorite part was going inside the freezer ?! (they are all crammed in their on the bottom right, funny kids)
Here they are with their personalized creations. One of the funnest field trips we've ever done for sure!
one of many laundry folding "parties" ( I have found that if I put a movie on and call it a party, I get a lot more participation!:)
We got our slurpee brain freeze on for free at 7 eleven on 7-11!
We enjoyed a fun filled day with our friends the Duke's at the splash pad
Lily is obsessed with this particular cousin.and how could she NOT be! Baby Ana. She talks about cute baby Ana all of the time!
We had so much fun and LOVED having a few days with our cousins and are SO grateful they made the trip out to see us...though they may never want to come back again after we made them clean. I mean like REALLY clean. Bless their hearts. We had someone call wanting a second showing of our house in the midst of 10 kids and 3 adults trying to relax and have fun:/ They were good sports and even posed for this picture! we are hoping they remember the fun parts like late movie nights, the splash pad, and swimming in their skivvies in the pond catching turtles and froggies with uncle Mike. (no pic- Mike dropped his phone in the pond AGAIN while Kjirst and I were off enjoying some frozen yogurt!:)
this month we also did tons o' swimming! we found a new community pool that we LOVE. It's new, little kid AND big kid friendly, and it's always empty. We'll be sad the day people discover it!
a real highlight this summer has been watching Josh catch fire with playing basketball. This particular game he really was on fire- he scored 9 points (one of those was a 3pointer) and he has been amazing on defense!! Love watching him play!

that same weekend we finally decided to use the kids bowl free passes and enjoyed some glow in dark bowling! notice anything unusual about the score board?
we found this really cool bowling alley called Mel's in georgetown and loved the arcade almost as much as the bowling. My fave is their sweet potato fries...yummmm...
Josh was in a really sweet, big-brother kind of mood this day (I think because he had had a good basketball game;) and was Bella's bowling coach!
This month Sav decided that she would take charge of lunch (I'm sure it was prompted by having to ask me a hundred times when lunch would be ready;) It's been very handy having a lunch helper!
Mike and I spent a weekend at a dental office/leadership conference (not pictured) while grammy and grampy graciously watched our kiddos. When we got back from the conference we had a little early birthday celebration. Thanks G&G for the dinner, cupcakes and presents and especially for taking care of our kiddos so we could go to the conference!
At the end of the month, the boys finally got to go to their Robotics camp, they've been waiting all summer for this! Zach got to attend with his buddy Jackson!

Here they are on their last day demonstrating their robot creations that they programmed. Josh's is the car and Zach's is a "massager"....as you can see he is massaging Bella's back with it ;)

We got to go watch Zilker Park's annual theater in the park...this year it was The Sound of Music. Our favorite so far!! we took papa john's pizza, popcorn and candy, drinks and ice-cream sandwiches in our cooler and made a night of it!
and last but certainly not least, meet our newest pet....seriously. eewww! A semi-rare, poisonous, texas red-headed centipede that Z found while mowing the lawn. A highlight for the boys maybe, but certainly not for me.
I can't believe there is less than one month till school starts!! here's hoping for an awesome August!!
