This was a pretty interesting weekend... for the past few weeks we've had random illnesses coming through, one kid with a cold, next week another one kind of thing...you know- the norm. But then last week hit...
Zach came down with "the cold" so I kept him home for 2 days, felt better, sent him back to school, while I came down with "the cold" on Thurs. Thurs night... I'm feeling B-A-D when in the middle of the night (with out my knowing) Savannah wakes up throwing up with a blazing fever (my sweet husband washed the sheets and cleaned up Sav). Next day fri, I've gotten worse, Bella's starting to get a fever (which later came with diarrhea), Sav can't keep anything down so I call the dr and the verdict is - can you guess... THE FLU!!! ARGH!! WE all have the stinkin flu! I can't have the flu right- I'm pregnant ! Thank heavens for 1/2 day fridays for Mike- my salvation. So for the next 2 days this is how it went: throw up, diarrhea, more fever, severe congestion, cough, more throw up, more blow outs and so forth. Mike my kind, sweet, dear husband who NEVER complains managed to feed us, get the well kids to do their chores, do the laundry , grocery shop, clean up poopy and throw up messes (all over the place), help Josh with his pinewood derby project, keep the house in semi-order, and prepare his Elder's Quorum lesson for Sunday. By the way, Zach now has "the flu" and not "the cold" - poor kid has all the symptoms. So what have I learned this weekend... 1. Mike is my hero and that I need to be good to him like he is to us, 2. that the flu and pregnancy are not a good combo (duh!) 3. that with the flu you can have any variation of the above listed nasty symptoms- (Z and I had them all) 4. Last I learned to be thankful for tastebuds... yes tastebuds... I've lost 6 lbs since thurs and can't taste my food which really doesn't help. I can't even enjoy being pregnant and being able to savor food (which for me during pregnancy is the BEST part!!) So for those of you who are still reading this I'm not posting this for sympathy, but rather to brag about the amazing man that I am fortunate enough to be married to. On the upside now that Z is at his worse I'm starting to feel better so now I can do my share and take care of him. There is a light at the end of the tunnel - I can see it!
(I posted the picture of Mike in Mexico because I feel like that is where he deserves to be right now- love you babe!!)

What a sweet husband!! Sorry y'all have been so sick!! Hope everyone gets better soon!! :)
Mike, you ROCK! I hope y'all get feeling better soon!
Caroline, can I borrow your husband next time a disaster strikes at my home? I can't believe how much he did! That is so awesome! I am glad to hear you are on the mend too, poor Zach! I hope he feels better soon.
So, does he fight crime in the evenings too? What a great guy :-)
Mike is so awesome, how blessed you are! We have all been sick here too, one person after the other. All the same symptoms that you listed, Nathan and are sharing the illness together right now so nothing is getting done around here except what needs to be! I know how you feel and I'm sorry! Hopefully all of you will be better soon!
Glad that your feeling better, but poor little Zach! Lucky that you had someone there to help! What a great guy :)
now THAT is a sad story! hope mike doesn't get it too!
I'm sorry you were all so sick!! To me throwing-up is the WORST!! As grandpa Asay would say "What a mell of a hess!" Thank goodness for 1/2 day Fridays and Mike's compassion and ability to know what to do to help! I'm sure that was key to you being able to rest, Caroline, and get better faster! Poor sweet kids - I hope they are all doing better! According to Mike, there were a few outfits that just weren't worth saving after being "sicked" all over! We sure love you all and know better days are ahead - yea!!
