Love is in the air???

At least that's what we're shooting for in our house!

Our kids are usually pretty good about getting along and being nice to each other for the most part, but like most normal kids have their moments where they bug each other and bicker... well lately with them being sick and around each other more than usual (cabin fever from all the sickness!!) they've been getting on each others' nerves a little more than the norm. So we decided that Valentine's Day this year came at the perfect time for us!! This is why I LOVE our family home evening nights! I feel like it gives Mike and I the opportunity to address (in a fun and unintimidating way) things going on at home and encourage our kids to work on them. So our lesson of course was "love one another" and for the activity we decided that we would decorate personal mailboxes, write a love note to each person in our family to be delivered in our boxes on Valentine's Day. I was so happy to see some of the things that the older kids were writing on their own!! For Savannah she drew a picture with random letters and had us write what she wanted to say to that person.
It felt good to see them excited to do something nice for each other and to see what they thought of each other (when asked to think of the good stuff of course:) It brought a good a feeling to our home and they were cute with each other the rest of the night- I'm enjoying this while it lasts;)

ps- in case you're wondering if we're all better now... almost...Mike came down with the flu this weekend :(, and Josh is being treated for pink eye now...so we're tapering off now, I can just feel it.

That's a good idea! It sounds like it worked too. The kids realized how much they love each other! The mailboxes were adorable!

It's me again!! Thanks SO much for the advice! I'll tell her to keep wiggling it...she likes to wiggle it, but just forgets or something-silly girl. We'll make sure we get a picture of the blank spot :)

PS...the new tooth is coming in kind of far back and a little crooked...is that okay? Is it because the baby tooth isn't out yet? Do you think it'll straighten out a little and move forward?

Sorry for such a looong comment! Glad you guys know about these kinds of things :)

Such cute ideas, as always!! AND, Thanks for the sweet valentine! The boys loved it, it made them feel special. Caleb has it upstairs in his drawer of "special things". I "REE LEE" liked Zach's little message to Caleb -- he is doing such a good job with writing!!! And knowing how much Josh (like Liam) can't stand writing . . . he wrote such a sweet message too! What impressive little people you are raising!! We sure love them -- (and the two big people too!! :)
