After our last Sea World hurrah in the middle of August, we had just one short week left to get ready for school...so off to the Dr's office we went to get well checks and shots for our oldest soon-to-be 7th grader and our newly turned 3 "big girl". While we were waiting J read Lils a story. Love these 2!
Our elementary school has a fun tradition called the "welcome walk"...the week before school starts, the teachers visit each student's house to introduce themselves...the anticipation is almost too much to bear, as you can see from these anxious girlies awaiting and peeking out the window

We always make cookies for the new teachers while we wait for them
Bella scored and got Ms. T for Kindergarten!!! Zach's and Sav's kinder teacher! Yay! We love her!!
Sav was thrilled to get Ms. H for 2nd Grade-- Zach's 2nd grade teacher, that we absolutely loved! Excited to have her again!
(Zach with Mrs. H- 2nd grade )
Z got 2 teachers for 4th Grade this year... Ms. R and Ms. C, so far so good, they are both super nice!! (not a bloody nose...just scraped and scabby;)
right before school started back up we went to one of the very last RR express games
Uncle Brett came with us and helped us cheer on the express!

We dropped off the kiddos and just like that...there were gone. From 5 at home to 1. I may or may not have shed a few tears :(
Gets me every year!
Fortunately I still have this fun, little cutie to keep me company!! On our first day of school we headed to the YMCA to work out and then to a back to school luncheon with our friends!
Bella has LOVED getting to ride the bus home like a "big girl" and sit by her sweet little friend and neighbor Sofia! how cute are they- seriously?!
Oh yeah....I forgot to mention...in the 11th hour our house SOLD!!! we were totally done with the selling our house/moving business...like SO DONE and so we decided to pull it off the market on Aug 31st...but then got an offer on it on Aug 29th!! phew that was close!! So we've been super busy packing and getting everything ready to move on Oct 8th!! we are SO excited!!
at the beginning of september Mike grilled the kiddos about school happenings during his monthly daddy interviews. I love reading his notes and hearing what these monkeys have to say!
After labor day Lily started a Joy School Co-op with 5 other little church friends!! She is LOVING it so far and is looking forward to having it in our (half way packed up) home next week;)Josh is loving the trombone still and is as happy as a clam that he was 1 of only 2- 7th graders that was chosen for symphonic band (out of 17 that tried out) He just recently signed up for the Jazz band club and has loved going to school at 7:30am on weds (seriously!) and after school fridays for their meetings...the free doughnuts may have something to do with that;) Here he is jamming and practicing "Animal"with the help of uncle Brett
Speaking of help... I forgot to mention how amazing it's been to have uncle Brett around helping us out with Mike's office financials, fixing up our current house for inspections, making me pack and get things done! We are so grateful for his help, moral support and the timing of it all!!! So,so grateful! Here we are at IKEA eating lunch since we got kicked out of the house one morning with a SURPRISE inspection...yeah- that was really, really awesome:/ no.warning.whatsoever.
In the middle of the back to school/ moving madness, Sav and I squeezed in a little date to get her some earrings at Claire's and have some fro-yo
She bought some mood lip gloss for $1 at claires (which seemed like a good idea at the time...ended up turning into a dark, purple sticky mess and made it's way into the hands of a certain busy 3 year old-YIKES!) She really wanted to take some silly pics! LOVE this girl!!
We've been able to enjoy some really beautiful TX fall weather...ahhhhhh...such a nice break from the heat and from all the house stuff!
one saturday after chores we headed to Georgetown for some Zydeco's Shaved ice and then to San Gabriel park. Uncle Brett discovered an interesting little frog haven...the kids went nuts trying to catch them!
Homework is back in full swing...here is Bella working on her All about me poster (errrr, more like Sav doing it for her)
Last weekend I headed to Time out for women with some good friends and we were able to meet Mariama Kallon one of the speakers from TOFW...inspiring woman and her inspiring story. I was grateful for this weekend! when I bought tickets for this a while back, I had no idea that we would be in the midst of moving, or that I would be called as 1st counselor in the Relief Society (and desperately seeking inspiration!) so the timing of this weekend was PERFECT!! It was a very fun and uplifting weekend!
Unlike this event...very UNinspiring...we heard that one of our favorite bands Bob Schneider/Lonelyland would be playing at a Pub in downtown Austin. We were so excited to go hear him since we've heard him before at the RR express concert series. Unfortunately it was a MUCH different venue and crowd and a much different performance:( not so uplifting. who knew he sang such bad songs and had such a potty mouth too?! I guess we're just used to hearing the good, clean stuff on the radio-- darn it!
And last but not least...Picture day practice smiles...only I thought it was 2 days earlier than it really was. that is how I roll these days. Well, at least I was early and they got to practice. they looked even cuter today (actual picture day:) you'll just have to take my word for it since I didn't take a pic:) Enough random happenings for now!!

Happy Fall Y'all! I will post new house pictures in the coming weeks...Stay tuned!!

well, first of all, you are looking so beautiful, caroline! i mean, really.
congratulations on the house. That's awesome! You've been through a lot, trying to get out of there. so, do you have a place to move to?
how fun that you get to have brett around to help with some things. my kids would have been in heaven at frog haven, too. i think that was one of their favorite things about texas. aside from cousins.
cute cute kids. Congratulations for joshy, for being chosen for the symphonic band!! way cool, josh!
I love savvy's purchases. she's pretty, like her mama.
love you guys!
YAAAAAAAAYY!! WAHOOOOOOO!! So excited about the HOUSE!! (Mom told us) I can't wait to tell my kids . . . since they feel invested and sort of a part of it all. ;) What exciting things going on! The kids all looked cute for school. (Love the "welcome walk" that you guys do down there -- so personal) How fun to have Uncle Brett there for awhile!! Tell Josh congrats on his awesome musical accomplishments (he's such a well-rounded boy). *** Can you believe you are moving!?! Sure wish we could be there to help with everything. I know it's a lot of work!! I can't wait to see how you decide to arrange everything in your beautiful new home. And you'll be there just in time for Christmas (and I guess Halloween and Thanksgiving too)!! I told Mom, "it's so perfect, Caroline already knows exactly where the Christmas tree will go!" haha! We sure love you guys. Can't wait till we all get to be together again. :) Miss you all!!
