the minute we got home from Florida we hit the ground running...Zach started his cub scout day camp early the very next morning... (this pic is actually on the last day of camp. I enjoyed getting to be with my cute boy. we got to enjoy some Kona Ice on a HOT day!!!)
Sav ALSO had her dance recital the day after we got back, phew! just in time!
here she is with her buddy A
waiting to go on stage
Warming up!

I didn't love the costume and red lipstick at first, but it grew on me;)
(they performed to "Dr Dr. give me the news" and it was REALLY cute!)
Soooo fun to watch!!! wish they would have let us record it :/
The morning after the performance, Lils came downstairs looking "purdy" with her self-applied red lipstick (yes, she applied that by herself!! not bad huh?) I was impressed and quickly wiped it off because that stuff is R-E-D!! Then she came back down in full costume and had re applied it not-so-purdy this time...all over her face, and costume! good thing we won't be needing it to perform anymore!

that week we had our Bullock friends over to play one last time before they moved to Utah:(
We are missing them...BADLY!!!
Bella and Ellie have been best friends since they were about 9months old! Look at those good big brothers!!! they've grown just a bit too!
Baby Bella and Baby Ellie
sweet little friends
one of MANY playdates over the past 5 years
makes me teary thinking about it:(
Grammy and Jeff came to pick up J for a special grandparents trip that G&G thoughtfully planned for the 12 and older grand kids! Josh LOVED it!!! Thank you grammy and grampy!!! before they headed out we stopped at Kawaii's for some shaved ice (and thought of the Bullock's, it's their favorite place;)
they had a GREAT time!!! we loved getting updates and pictures sent to us of all the fun things they got to do! like getting to watch some great shows, resort swimming, moonshine beach, duck boat, cherry berry, the hatchery and lots of other fun places and treats!!
this summer we planned on having lots of friend play dates...Here's the first with our cute little friend S. Then we were hit with Bronchitis which meant lots of high fevers on and off and LOTS of coughs. Which also meant no friends over for a while:(
Despite all of the sickness Sav came up with her summer bucket list (1 out of 4 pages!)
we got a do it yourself summer camp kit that helps the kiddos have fun and be productive with their summer time. And of course, Sav is the MOST into it. she gets up every morning and hits her list of Must do items, family work and play schedule (a chore a day that we work on as a family, then one fun thing as a family) then she hits her bucket list. She is one motivated little diva. She wears me out just watching her!
She made sure one of our first field trips was a trip to hobby lobby to stock up on supplies for the arts and crafts day and specific bucket list activities.
Thursdays is library day... here we are visiting the library pet python- Rocksssanne
went to our favorite wooden play ground in georgetown and discovered a NEW shaved ice stand that we're in love with now...Zydeco's just up the street!
The next morning was father's day and Bella woke up really sick!!!
the big kids and I made THIS YUMMY french toast recipe! yummmm!
we made him a Super hero gift basket with all of his favorite treats (idea from pinterest) and we made our super dad a banner
the kids made Mike a book all about him and we put it together
pictures above: Josh- drew he and Mike with a lawn mower (love that!), Zach- he and Mike catching turtles, Sav- Mike holding her upside down with rainbows all around, Bella- she and Mike "cuddling", Lily- ??? scribbles;)
We made him his favorite dinner and gave him his gifts. here he is reading the book. he got a little teary eyed...the kids hovered and loved reading what they wrote. We spoiled him pretty good this year. He deserved it too!! He took the kids to church by himself (minus sick Bella) and while Josh was giving his first talk in church he was trying to record it on his phone so I could hear it, Zach decided to throw up and Sav complained of a headache. he ended up coming home after sacrament meeting with a sick boy and Sav came down with a high fever.
After 2 weeks of Bella being sick, Savannah came down with bronchitis too :/
we celebrated the first day of summer with half price sonic shakes...Sav is in the back holding up a cherry that someone gave her. she was too sick to even enjoy a shake
Despite her hacking up a lung and a high fever for almost 2 weeks, she still managed to do her "stuff" one day we made bottle cap necklaces
The boys started Soccer (Z) and Basketball (J)
in between games last saturday we had to be out of our home (still for sale) for 2 showings, so we watched Brave (awesome btw)
after the movie we headed to Josh's game. So fun to watch this sweet boy play the game he loves and works so hard practicing at home. I was SO proud of him. It always takes him a while to adapt to playing with a new team each season, but this time it felt like he picked up where he left off!he got in there and stole, intercepted, got a rebound, passed and even took some shots! it usually takes him ALL season to get to the point where he feels comfortable doing that. He did that in the first game!!yay!!!progress!!
Mike is asst coach on both boy's teams again, so we get watch from the side lines...(Z is reading HP at last!!! He's finished 3 books in 2 weeks and is on the 4th now. Thanks to universal studios;) Lily likes to make people squirm in disgust as she rolls around under the stinky benches.with her filthy "danket". good times.
Josh packed up and headed off to his first year of all week overnight scout camp!!! and on the week where we hit record hi temps of 108!!! he gets home tomorrow afternoon!
we buzzed his hair to prepare for the heat
lily has spent a lot of time here lately...
because of this....so far, not too good. She LOVES to be naked and she LOVES to sit on the potty and "read". But she also LOVES peeing and pooping on the floor and then coming to find me to show me :/ at least she tells me right?! She can't seem to make the connection. I don't think she is ready, but Mike and Lily seem to think so. We'll see what happens.
we discovered a new favorite chocolate chip recipe from HERE
Sav continued to knock out that bucket list...we FINALLY painted shirts. she's been begging for this one for a while now!
Sav MADE ME make some summer story journals for her (apparently good old fashion composition note books aren't good enough for this girly!) She is busy one!
and so was I...as I got to throw one of my dear friends a baby shower. We picked a cowboy theme and it was so fun to decorate and make some stuff in preparation for it ( I haven't been crafty over the last year since we put our house on the market, so it felt good to make stuff again!:)
I made several banners, wrapped bottles and got some western decor from Mike's office to decorate with. My friend Janene made the darling cake (which was also DE-LISH!!)
we had a chocolate fountain and helped her celebrate the upcoming birth of her 4th BOY!!! So excited for her!! Here is Lily sneaking the leftovers... Good Bye JUNE!!

and now onto JULY!!!
