Savannah Banana turned 7...

 7 things about Sav...
 1. She is the QUEEN of dress up,and loves to host tea parties! (she even makes me dress up sometimes too)

2. She is an AMAZING little helper! she is GOOD at cleaning!! She will often just DO it with out being asked, like pull up a stool and do the dishes, do saturday morning chores before anyone is awake, make my bed to surprise me,clean the boys room for no good reason...etc. She is a hard worker and I'm so grateful for that little fact!!
3. She is VERY CREATIVE and EXPRESSIVE! she is super bright and writes fun and creative stories...we love to see what she brings home from school! she also loves anything to do with art projects, drawing, making jewelry...
(these are 2 of her "thankful"  leaves she added to our thanksgiving tree)

4. She is very THOUGHTFUL...she is the one that makes sure we make birthday signs! she will get out all the supplies, and spend the day working on them. she constantly draws pictures and write notes for her friends, teachers or siblings to let them know she loves them.

5. She is a little FASHIONISTA!!! (I'm a little concerned about this;) She LOVES all things girly...nail polish, hair stuff, lipgloss and CLOTHES...she will spend hours coordinating outfits for the week then lay them out...

 6. She is a HEALTHY eater and LOVES salads, veggies, fruit and anything "good" for our bodies...nice to have at least one of these kiddos in the family
(this pic was taken on her birthday during our mommy-daughter date...we ate salads at the spicy pickle by her request)

7. She is a GOOD BIG and little SISTER!!! both little girls just LOVE  her and look up to her, and the boys admire how awesome she is at the things they need help with (organization...etc;) Though she is feisty and strong willed, she has a strong desire to be a "good" girl and make good choices! She can be a great example to her brothers and sisters! (and even to Mike and I at times;)

Here are some pictures of her on her special day...
I took her out for lunch and told her I had a surprise afterwards....getting her ears pierced!!!
She's been dying to get them pierced, but we told her she had to wait till she was 8 :) actually Mike wanted to wait till she was 12, but I used my powers of persuasion and convinced him otherwise;)
I told her it might hurt just a little bit...but no tears, just smiles:) This was the PERFECT gift for her and was the highlight of her day!
we had her favorite dinner- lemon pepper salmon, mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli. my kind of girl!
since Christmas had just passed, Mike and I were kinda done with presents...thankfully Grammy and Grampy sent her some earlier so she DID still get to open some... She loved all of the crafty stuff she got!! Thanks G&G!!
Ok- we did give her 2 presents (the earrings and this unwrapped dress with a matching one for her "american girl doll")...still haven't broken the news to her yet that she doesn't own an american girl doll...
while we were getting the candles ready- she took off and came back with the new dress on her and new bff
matchy-matchy!!
she blew out her candles...and we enjoyed a few mini cupcakes

This year she also got to have a birthday party!!! A first since we have done 1/2 birthdays in june in the past (Dec 27th is not an ideal time for a party, but she REALLY wanted to have one that was close to her birthday)
She wanted to do an "all things fancy" party, so we decorated the dining room like so...
and set a "fancy" table for a "fancy" lunch of heart shaped sandwiches, and finger foods (no pictures, I did this on a weekday over the break while Mike worked so it was just me and the kiddos! luckily Josh is a very good party helper:)
I did manage to snap a pic of the desserts...

7 girls in their fancy attire
you can't tell, but they are holding out their pinkies while drinking their punch...very sophisticated don't ya think?

Bell felt so grown up hanging out with 7+ year old girls!!!
of course Sav requested crafts...so they decorated little journals and made flower pens

and they also decorated bracelets and rings...bling bling
then they gave each other makeovers...they may or may not have gotten a little carried away with the lipstick;)

Ta da....

and they had to ruin their make up for the cupcakes...darn it!
but well worth it!!
She had a great party and loved celebrating just a few DAYS after her birthday and not a few months;)
She got so many fun presents, including this fancy apron with her name on it...along with some really fun baking ware! we are going to have some fun in the kitchen!! Thanks friends!!!
I love this series of pictures below...it shows the many sides we get to see of Sav.... (excuse the lighting...got a new lens and figuring out indoor settings is tricky for me- but you get the idea;)

Happy 7th birthday Savy-Sue!!! we sure do love you and the spice you add to our home!!!

Happy Birthday Savannah (I know she doesn't like to be called Savannah Banana- at least not by me haha)! I love everything you said about her and in the short amount of time we were with her I know it ALL to be so true! She is beautiful, creative, organized, sweet and sassy, and so smart! Her earrings make her look so much older. I bet she was so excited for that present! The party looks like so much fun (and yummy too)!!! We love you Savannah!

Happy Birthday Sav!! WOW! I can't believe you are seven years old, AND that you got to get your ears pierced!! Claire will think you are so awesome . . . she wants her ears pierced so bad! Now I can tell her that she can do it when she's "as big as Savannah", and when she learns to be such a good helper like you are, so that she can take good care of her earrings all by herself. Thanks for being such a great niece and cousin! We sure love you! (I love the matching dresses for you and and your American Girl doll! -- so cute!!) Love, Aunt Kjirsten
