In a Bluish kinda mood...

No, I'm not feeling down. I just really like the color blue (and brown) right now- hence the new background. I'm taping up around the dining room (which by the way is totally empty- no furniture or decor) and getting ready to paint it Languid blue (lightish, cloudy blue). I've been obsessed with blue and brown as of late and keep telling myself I'm going to paint that empty room blue. So why exactly am I painting an empty room with nothing to decorate it with.... well...

1. I LOVE to paint- it's fun
2. When I get something in my head- I'm irritable and impossible until I do that thing.
3. I'm hoping that the color will be soothing and cause a calming effect on my kids while I cook or just any time.
4. I'm also hoping it will suppress my appetite making it easier to lose this baby fat.
5. It will never be easier to paint once furniture goes in.
6. Excuse to GET some furniture to make the room match something
7. It's labor day weekend and we're having friends over on Mon. (not really a good one seeing how we won't even spend any time IN the dining room- but oh well)
8. And lastly did I mention I LOVE to paint!

We'll see how it turns out!

Exactly how much do you love to paint? Enough to come to Wyo for a paint job or 10?

I'm glad to see that you are in a blue color kind of mood rather than a blue sad kind of mood :) Can't wait to see pics of the new room and the color!

if you love blue and brown, you guys should come stay in our guestroom. it's just calling your name.

i'm painting this weekend too! i started today. i'm working on our room because so far, it's been the 'junk room'. all of the extra CRAP goes in there. so i'm trying to make it look nicer so that we actually WANT to go in there. :)

I also love blue and brown (or pink and brown, I even thought of doing Kennedy's room in lavender with brown accents) Love the new background by the way! And like you, when I get something in my head I obsess until I do it or get it!

You are really good at color combinations. I could use your expertise choosing some colors in my house. I'm in to green and brown right now and I'm toying with the idea of painting a wall green. I need a second opinion...
We're coming to Austin for Lincoln's blessing. Will we see you guys?

I'm so curious, how do you paint with little ones running about? I need help picking out colors form walls because I am getting so annoyed with white!
